concerning party size i think you should have to choose how many people to bring but more people in the party means you attract more monster attention makes party size part of the strategy so you gotta take enough to kill the boss but you cant take so many that the regular enemies overwhelm you.

So this suggestion would seem to be mutually exclusive against the mechanic many people like with the ability to switch party members out on the fly (except during battles, for example). Interesting.
